Wow. I can't believe all the changes that have taken place over the past year! As some of you know, I'm getting ready to move to the Philippines. To say the least, this is the biggest move I've ever made and will ever make! I'm not nervous at all........ Just to clarify, let me tell you how I ended up on this path. I love music and how it allows us to connect with God. Music is an outlet, something that allows me to express the things I'm thinking and feeling. I believe music exists to point to the One who made it. For the longest time, I have enjoyed two things and didn't know how those two things would mesh. Along with music, I also love kids. Over the past few years, God has allowed me to travel to places filled with underprivileged kids. I've seen it in Thailand, India and now the Philippines. While I'm sure there are a lot of kids around the world who are in need of guidance, care and most importantly, Jesus, God allowed me to grow close to the ones in the Philippines while I was there. To hold them and interact with them the way I did really, to be quite honest with you, gave me no choice but to invest in them. Now, I'm not trying to give you another "heart string" story about traveling to another country and holding a little boy in my arms as I take a profile picture with him. (There is absolutely nothing wrong with that!) I want to see these kids break the cycle they have been living in and hear the Gospel. While I was in the Philippines, God provided multiple opportunities to be involved with corporate worship through music. The third weekend I was there, the church we were visiting made an announcement at the end of the service that they needed worship leaders. That was the moment I could feel God saying, "Don't put Me in a box." God gives us passions. Maybe one. Maybe two. Maybe 12! He gives us those passions on purpose. I'll be honest, on the plane ride over I was a bit skeptical. How was God going to work this out? How can I take the two things I love and mesh them together? He found a way! I'm proud to say I'll be working for Kids International Ministries. I have talked to the founder of KIM who is very supportive of this mesh of my passions! I look forward to being able to play and record music all the while investing in these kids lives! Take a look at them! Posting these pictures makes me want to get on a plane right now! Unfortunately, there are some financial goals that have to be reached for that to happen... (Insert sad emoticon.) That's where you could come in! (Insert happy emoticon!)
If you would like to partner with me in this ministry God has called me to, I would be ecstatic! I'm going to need support both spiritually and financially. No amount is too small or too large, and you can definitely never have enough prayer! If you would like to give financially, go to the Contact Me page, click on the designated link and select my name. Whether it's monthly partnership, a one-time gift or prayer, your support is greatly appreciated! Thanks for reading my first blog!
